Every year, thousands of horses circulate thru the kill lot pipeline. Sometimes these horses are taken in by rescues, individuals, or sanctuaries. Sometimes they spend days, weeks, even months going from auction to auction. During this time, they are exposed to disease, inhumane treatment, and awful trailering conditions. Unfortunately, many end up being sent to slaughter after being circulated thru the system. Each horse has a tag with 4 numbers on it — some people call this their kill tag. Here at Big John and Friends we are trying to make a difference — “One tag at a time.”
