Tag #6609 — Mr Moo
There were so many distinguished names for this horse and he ended up being Mr. Moo. His name absolutely fits him perfectly. Mr. Moo is a quirky boy with lots and lots of love to give. He has been a joy since the moment he stepped off the trailer.
Mr. Moo spent his lifetime working for the Amish. We are not sure exactly what brought him to the kill lot but our guess would be his age. Our vet believes he is over 20 years old and probably couldn’t put in a full days worth of work anymore.
When Mr. Moo came to us, he had absolutely no idea what a treat was. He didn’t know what it means to be pet and loved. On his second day here, he became very sick with strangles. Mr. Moo was underweight and needed his teeth floated very badly. Our vet and farrier both came out within a few days and worked their magic. We started a feeding program to help him gain weight and once he discovered what grain was, he became a huge fan!!
After a few months of quarantine, we introduced Mr. Moo to Norman and they have been inseparable ever since. Moo is an oldie but a goodie. He is without a doubt one of the sweetest horses I have ever met. His trademark move is the way he tilts his head to beg for treats.
There is so much to be said for love, care, and a relationship with a horse. That relationship has truly brought out the very best in Mr. Moo and it brings out the best in people. ANYONE can ride this boy - he tolerates anything and everything the kids throw at him. He is pure gold and we absolutely love him.
